I used the default "head" template-mesh in Mudbox and just sculpted from there and painted it.

Model built in Maya, then sculped/painted detail, as well as extracted normal maps and textures in Mudbox. Also rendered in Mudbox. Touched up textures in Photoshop.
Sony Online Entertainment - Built and textured in Maya. Ambient Occlusion texture maps done in XSI. Done for unreleased PS3 title: "The Agency."
